Production and sale of pellets produced from seaweed-based materials for use as additive in masterbatch production. Masterbatch producers sell their products to plastics producters.
From plastic-free bags made from cassava, disposable straws made from rice to packaging made from seaweed, we are working with manufacturing partners who are innovating to diversify their offerings
We have partnered with local subject matter experts in the cultivation and processing of vanilla, cacao and coffee. This includes bringing biostimulant knowledge and use to farmers.
Seaweed rice is a combination of rice and seaweed to produce a nutritious human food.
Contributing to the recovery, and ongoing health, of land used for agriculture and grazing.
Our seaweed-based pellet and powder products are being tested by a producer of masterbatch for the plastic product manufacturers.
By incorporating seaweed-based additives into the manufacturing process, a catalyst for biodegradation is created once the plastic product reaches the landfill or marine environment. This facilitates the formation of a biofilm by microbes, which coats the surface of the plastic. These microorganisms then penetrate the plastic, expanding its molecular structure to accommodate other microbes that release chemical signals as part of the quorum sensing process. These signals attract additional microbes to the plastic. Through this collaborative process, the microbes effectively break down the chemical bonds of polymer chains at an accelerated rate. Creating an opportunity for microbes to utilize plastic as food.

Partnering with Dr Adibi Nor and University of Malaya to produce a commercial nano seaweed as a promising natural extract and source of essential minerals that are beneficial for human well-being.
For your information, nano seaweed is used as an active ingredient in skin care products for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and moisturizing effects that promote healthy skin. In the pharmaceutical industry, nano seaweed is being investigated for its potential as a drug delivery system and for its therapeutic properties.

The macroalgae Ulva sp. is classified as a part of the Chlorophyta genus. It is synonymous with the term ‘sea lettuce’ due to the appearance of its thin, green and flat thallus.
Ulva is highly beneficial and is used in human food, medical, health and beauty industries. It contains various nutrients such as sulfated polysaccharides, lipids, proteins, dietary fibers, and vitamins. Ulva extracts have also been commonly used in the cosmetics industry as humectants in addition to providing revitalizing and remineralising effects on the skin.
Of interest, sulphated polysaccharides extracted from macroalgae have also demonstrated antioxidant,
anticoagulant, antihyperlipidemic, anticancer, immunomodulatory effects in multiple studies.
Due to the lack of development in the downstream process, training and investments in basic processing tools such as drying racks, ovens and washing stations (for food grade products) will be crucial to ensure the best quality of raw material produced.
